Recurring Pokémon that have been caught
Eighteen recurring wild Pokémon were later caught, nine by Ash, one by Clemont, one by Jessie, one by Lana, three by Goh, one by James, one by Lance, and one by Acerola.
- In Ash Catches a Pokémon, Ash caught a Caterpie that he started to battle in Pokémon Emergency!. It was eventually released as a Butterfree in Bye-Bye Butterfree.
- In Rage of Innocence, Lance caught the red Gyarados, which was causing a rampage at the Lake of Rage in the previous episode.
- An Aipom began following the group through the Kanto region, and was caught three episodes later by Ash in Channeling the Battle Zone!. She had a habit of taking Ash's hat from him making him chase her around, sometimes lowering her eyelid and sticking out her tongue at him when he tried to get it back. She was eventually traded to Dawn in Throwing the Track Switch and evolved into an Ambipom in Journey to the Unown! under her care.
- Ash also caught a Gible in Gotta Get a Gible!, after he helped him learn Draco Meteor.
- In Battling the Bully!, Ash caught the Sunglasses Krokorok (which debuted as a Sandile) that had been following him since A Sandile Gusher of Change!. He evolved into a Krookodile in Ash, Iris, and Trip: Then There Were Three, during his battle against Iris's Dragonite.
- In A Shockingly Cheeky Friendship!, Clemont caught a Dedenne that was following the group since the last episode, and gave it to Bonnie to take care of.
- Jessie caught a Mimikyu in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, after it helped Team Rocket attack Ash and Pikachu.
- In Rocking Clawmark Hill!, Ash caught a Rockruff that lived with him and Professor Kukui in Kukui's home. Although Kukui took care of it, it was never actually his Pokémon. It evolved into a Dusk Form Lycanroc in Rising from the Ruins!.
- In One Journey Ends, Another Begins..., Ash caught a Litten that often wandered around Melemele Island. It evolved into a Torracat in Pushing the Fiery Envelope!. It later evolved into an Incineroar in Fiery Surprises!.
- In Love at First Twirl!, Ash caught a Poipole that often wandered around Melemele Island. He released it back into the wild in Securing the Future!.
- In We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, Lana caught an Eevee that had traveled across the sea to Alola. She gave it the nickname Sandy.
- In The Battlefield of Truth and Love!, Acerola caught a Totem-sized Gengar nicknamed Greedy Rapooh, which she tried to help in Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime?.
- In Got Meltan?, Ash caught a Meltan that befriended Rowlet. In Final Rivals!, it evolved into Melmetal.
- In Mind-Boggling Dynamax!, Goh caught a Scorbunny that he befriended in the previous episode. In Kicking It from Here Into Tomorrow!, it evolved into Raboot. Later in Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!, it evolved into Cinderace.
- In A Chilling Curse!, Ash caught a Gengar that previously appeared in Best Friend...Worst Nightmare!.
- In Sobbing Sobble!, Goh caught a Sobble that previously appeared in Toughing It Out!.
- In Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!, Goh caught the Eternatus that previously appeared in Flash of the Titans!.
