Release information

This card was first released in the EX Sandstorm expansion with artwork by Ryo Ueda. It was reprinted in the EX Emerald expansion with the same art, and in the EX Holon Phantoms and POP Series 5 sets with new artwork by the same artist. Another artwork also by Ryo Ueda was used in Great Encounters expansion, originating from the Moonlit Pursuit and Dawn Dash expansion, and later reprinted in POP Series 8.

Rare Candy was later reclassified in Japan as an Item card during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, though the English Trainer cards did not adopt this naming convention until after this card's latest print. Unleashed featured new artwork by Noriko Hotta, and the Japanese Reviving Legends expansion featured yet another new illustration by Shizurow.

Rare Candy was later reprinted in the Dark Explorers expansion with new artwork by Ryo Ueda. This print brings the card effect in line with an errata issued at the start of the Black & White Series. In Japan, this card was reprinted as one of the BW-P Promotional cards, available as part of a ten card random pack released during the June 2012 Gym Challenge. It was reprinted again in Japan as part of the Master Deck Build Box EX, released on September 14th, 2012. An Ultra-Rare Secret card print illustrated by was Ayaka Yoshida was released in the Megalo Cannon expansion. The first Black & White Series print was released again in the Blastoise/Kyurem-EX Combo Deck.
