Raiden

Raiden (Japanese: ライデン Raiden) is a character of the day from the anime who appeared in Ring Masters.

He was once a Trainer like Ash who was training for the Johto League, until he came across Rikishii Town and gained interest in the sumo competition.

While traveling through Johto, Ash and his friends met Raiden in Rikishii Town. He was the current champion of the town's sumo competition, and was entering again to defend his title. Ash entered the competition as well with his Snorlax.

Eventually, the two ended up facing each other in the final round of the tournament. Raiden was using his Feraligatr, who had helped him reach victory in the previous year's competition. However, the Water type was no match for Ash's Snorlax, who ended up defeating the champion and winning a King's Rock.

Although he lost, Raiden wasn't upset. He was happy to have faced Ash and congratulated him on his victory.

Raiden's Feraligatr is Raiden's only known Pokémon which he trained for the Sumo Conference in Rikishii Town. It was first seen training against a Nidoking and is shown to be very strong against a Heracross and a Granbull. Then at the conference Team Rocket are causing havoc and it sends them blasting off with a Hydro Pump. Feraligatr's first battle begins against a Golem, Ash and his friends think this would be a tough battle from the weight disadvantage but it is able to knock Golem out with one hit.

Its next battle is against a very strong Blastoise the match could go any way but in the end Feraligatr is the winner and passes to the finals against Ash's Snorlax. Snorlax makes the first move but Feraligatr dodges it. Snorlax barely manages to retain its balance and teetering on the edge of the ring, still manages to dodge Feraligatr's attack. Raiden is immediately shocked and impressed with how deceptively agile Snorlax is. Both of them make an impressive move but as Feraligatr was pushing Snorlax out of the ring, Ash tells Snorlax to take a deep breath, using its stomach to push Feraligatr away, saving Snorlax. Feraligatr manages to toss Snorlax, but Snorlax manages to land in the ring with a huge impact, causing the entire stadium to shake. Because of that, Feraligatr loses its balance and Snorlax manages to push it out of the ring, winning the match and the competition.

Feraligatr's only known move is Hydro Pump.
