Trivia

Origin

It is most likely based on a porcupinefish or pufferfish.

Name origin

Qwilfish's name is a combination of quill and fish. Its Japanese name could be a contraction of 針千本 harisenbon, porcupinefish.

An early version of Qwilfish was called Bukū, which is probably a corruption of 河豚 fugu, pufferfish.
