Purity River (Japanese: ピュア川 Pure River) is an anime-exclusive location in Johto featured in Mewtwo Returns. It runs through Purity Canyon, with its water flowing from Clarity Lake atop Mount Quena.
Due to its pure water, left undisturbed by humans for many generations, many Bug-type Pokémon are attracted to the river. Ledian were seen to light up a tree positioned adjacent to the river. It is also a popular place for Kakuna to hang, meaning that a number of Weedle and Beedrill are also present.
