A Punk Guy (Japanese: バッドガイ Bad Guy) is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation VI. They tend to specialize in Dark- and Poison-type Pokémon.
In X and Y, Punk Guys are depicted as young brutish men wearing studded leather clothing. In X and Y, they appear only in the Lost Hotel, with the exception of Punk Guy Faust, who appears in Lumiose City, and another as a Lumiose Gang Member. Some Punk Guys in the Battle Maison also specialize in Fire-type Pokémon or exclusively use Pokémon that can have the ability Intimidate. When paired with a Punk Girl in Kalos, they may challenge the player to a Double Battle as a Punk Couple. Cassius, the Pokémon Storage System manager in Kalos, is depicted as a Punk Guy.
In Generation VII, Punk Guys look similar to male Team Skull Grunts, but do not wear any Team Skull accessories, and they keep their Pokémon in Dusk Balls. In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it's confirmed that former male Team Skull Grunts take on the Punk Guy appearance. In the Battle Tree, Punk Guys specialize in using the ability Intimidate after Battle 50. In the Battle Royal Dome, Punk Guys and Punk Girls exclusively use Dark-type and Poison-type Pokémon.
In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Punk Guys take the place of Bikers in previous games, as bicycles have been removed from the game. Upon being defeated, Punk Guys will award three Poké Balls along with prize money.
