The Psychic type is one of the ten TCG types. It is represented by the color purple.

The Psychic type contains all Psychic, Ghost and Poison Pokémon found in the video games. For example, Alakazam, Gengar and Garbodor are Psychic types in the TCG.

Prior to the Diamond & Pearl set, Poison-type Pokémon were Grass type in the TCG.

Battle properties

Generally Psychic Pokémon have a weakness to:

  • Psychic (if the Pokémon was a Psychic or Poison type in the video games)
  • Darkness (if the Pokémon was not a Poison type in the video games)
