The Proprietor (Japanese: マスター Master; real name unknown) is a recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime.
History
He currently works as a server at a Sunyshore City café. However, a flashback revealed that he was once a Pokémon poacher, though he renounced this line of work after having a battle against Volkner and Flint when they were kids, after which he befriended them.
The Proprietor, like Flint, had become frustrated with Volkner's lacking motivation and refusal to return to his role as the Sunyshore Gym Leader. After spotting a spark in Volkner in Flint Sparks the Fire!, he instructed Flint to battle Ash and forced Volkner to watch.
