The Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition (Japanese: プロモカードパック 25th ANNIVERSARY edition) is a promotional Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game set that complements the 25th Anniversary Collection available from the same day. It features close replicas of popular cards from different Eras of the TCG.
Information
The Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition is a 25-card set that celebrates 25 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Japan. It includes a selection of reprints that appealed to both collectors and players in their respective Era, featuring popular Original Era cards, promotional cards that required high numbers of redemption points in various schemes, and cards that influenced strategic trends. Each card retains the layout of their original print with minor alterations to accommodate the collection symbol and number in the bottom left. All cards have a Confetti Holofoil background illustration and border, a red and gold "25th" graphic, and etching. These cards formed the basis of the Classic Collection subset of the Celebrations expansion outside Asia.
In Japan and South Korea, cards in this set were distributed in promo packs which contained 1 card in each pack and could not be purchased individually. A single pack was given to customers at participating stores for every four 25th Anniversary Collection packs purchased. Packs were also included in concurrent items of merchandise.
In Thailand, 21 of the cards in this set were distributed in promo packs similar to Japan and South Korea, which were given to customers who bought more than ฿300 worth of Pokémon Trading Card Game merchandise from participating stores. Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise and _____'s Pikachu were not included in the promo packs.
Traditional Chinese copies of this set were not distributed in promo packs, but through each card's respective promotional event or merchandise.
