Porydonk is a deck archetype in the Pokémon Trading Card Game based around the cards Porygon2, Drifblim, and Seeker. It only sees use in the Unlimited format.
History
Until the release of Seeker in Triumphant, Porydonk was pretty much impossible.
Strategy
The objective of this deck is to win on the first turn it is allowed to attack using a combination of Porygon2, Drifblim and Seeker.
Porydonk uses the Trainer Draw Engine; a variety of Trainer cards (namely Professor Oak, Erika, and Computer Search) allow super fast set-up of the deck. The player uses Porygon2's Poké-Power Download to discard a Seeker, targeting itself in the process. This forces the opponent to send back a Benched Pokémon back in its hand. Porygon2 can be played right back thanks to Broken Time Space, and the process can be repeated.
Once the oppontent has no reminaing Benched Pokemon, Drifblim will attack with Take Away leaving no Pokémon on the opponent's field.
Key cards
- Porygon2
- Drifblim
- Uxie - Uxie gives major draw power for Porydonk; it's Set Up Poké-Power allows the player to draw cards until they have seven cards in their hand.
- Seeker
- Professor Oak - Essentially a souped-up Set Up
- Broken Time-Space - Allows the player to evolve its Pokémon on the same turn they are played; this is needed to evolve on the first turn, and to play several Seeker in a row with Porygon2.
- Boost Energy - For Drifblim's Take Away attack.
- Regice - Counters a Spiritomb start, if the opponent has another Pokémon on its Bench.
- Lysandre's Trump Card - Allows the player re-cycle through the deck. It also gives the player a second chance if the donk is missed.
