The Pokémon franchise was first introduced in Thailand around 2000. The series is popular among kids and adults equally. The Pokemon are usually referred by their Japanese or English name among the fans.

Pokémon anime

The anime was introduced in Thailand after it was shown on Nine TV. Since then, the Pokémon anime has disappeared off Thai televisions. Today the anime can be found in the form of bootleg DVDs.

Pokémon video games

In Thailand, the main series video games are very popular as side-series games are rare to find. The video games are sent to Thailand in their in Japanese version. Afterwards, the English version will become available. However, the English versions are more popular than Japanese version. As with the anime, there are many illegal copies sold in Thailand.

Pokémon manga

The well known manga in Thailand is เนชั่น เอ็ดดูเทนเมนท์ (Pokemon Adventures). It is published by เนชั่น เอ็ดดูเทนเมนท์ (Nation Edutainment). It sold in most comic stores along with some illegal Pokémon comic. Also, some Pokémon movies are found in comic form.It was translated by Hidenori Kusaka and pictured by Satoshi Yamamoto.All of character and pokemon name were as same as japan but moves were change into Thai.
