Pokémon Local Acts (Japanese: ポケモンローカルActs Pokémon Local Acts) is an initiative to promote several prefectures of Japan through various Pokémon-themed campaigns. Participating prefectures are assigned Ambassadorial Pokémon (Japanese: 推しポケモン Favored Pokémon) that correspond to an element of the prefecture, such as similar-sounding names or a popular creation of the area. The Ambassadorial Pokémon act as mascots for the area, promoting tourism and exports.
