Pokémon GO Plus accessory

The Pokémon GO Plus (Japanese: Pokémon GO Plus) is a peripheral for use with Pokémon GO. It will be available for purchase in late July 2016. It notifies the player about in-game events—such as the appearance of wild Pokémon—via multicolor LED and vibration. It communicates with Pokémon GO via Bluetooth.

Since the game is available as a free download, Pokémon GO Plus must be purchased separately.

Pokémon GO Plus can be worn either by clipping it to clothing, or on a wristband.

It has the same design as the marker used in the Google Maps: Pokémon Challenge.

Functionality

When a wild Pokémon is nearby, the Pokémon GO Plus will start flashing green and vibrate. If the player has caught that species of Pokémon before, they can throw a Poké Ball by pressing the button on the device. If the capture is successful, the light will flash rainbow colors; if it flashes red, the capture failed.

The Pokémon GO Plus will blink and vibrate when within range of a PokéStop. Pressing the button on the Pokémon GO Plus will search for items, which can then be added to the Bag by swiping or tapping them on the device running Pokémon GO.
