The entire year of 2006 was celebrated as Pokémon's 10th Anniversary, as February 27, 2006 marked the tenth anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green Versions, and therefore the tenth anniversary of the Pokémon media franchise as a whole.

Journey Across America

A series of events were held across the United States throughout 2006 under the title "Journey Across America". The events showed previews of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and had GBA and TCG tournaments.

The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon

A special episode of the Pokémon anime was made in the United States, first broadcasted on April 29, 2006.

Music

On March 27, 2007, a new music CD was released in the United States titled Pokémon X. The CD included songs from the English dub of the anime, as well as new songs.

In Japan, another CD was released on October 28, 2006, titled 10th Anniversary Pokémon Happy Birthday Concert.
