Pokémon: Kids Winter Fest is a kid-centric website where players can play seasonal minigames, complete activities, and collect Pokémon badges. The website has been available from December 1, 2020 and remains accessible despite previously being planned to close on January 31, 2021.[1] By playing games and completing special events, players can collect Pokémon badges that highlight their achievements.

Website

The website requires the use of browser cookies to access full functionality and let the user save their progress between visits. If cookies are disabled, the player can play the minigames but not be on a Trainer Team or collect badges. Upon entering a name, the player selects a companion Pokémon and gets placed in a Trainer Team at random.

The main menu consists of four sections, and access to the Games area. Trainer Zone allows players to see their statistics, including how many Pokémon they have collected, and how long they have played each game. Badges serves as a Pokédex to show off Pokémon Badges collected, Achievements, and Missions. Rewards allows the player to spin the wheel daily and earn rewards. Team Races is a daily event where each team competes to collect the most Razz Berries from playing games to win Badge Pouches. Players can open Badge Pouches by completing certain achievements and tasks. Badge Pouches award an assortment of Pokémon Badges which are added to the Badge collection.

The companion Pokémon can be changed to any whose badge the player has collected. The list of companion Pokémon that can be chosen at the beginning are:

Teams

  • Fire
  • Electric
  • Water
  • Grass

Games

Relay Ridge

Relay Ridge

Relay Ridge is an obstacle course game where the player guides the Pokémon through the course to get as far as possible while avoiding obstacles such as trees and icicles. The player has three lives, which refill when the Pokémon swaps out at checkpoints. Razz Berries can be collected on the course, as well as charge icons. Three charge icons will cause the Pokémon to boost forward and be invincible for a short time.

Snow Holes

Snow Holes

Snow Holes is a whack-a-mole game, where the player has to tap on Diglett and Dugtrio that pop out of the snow holes. Each Diglett or Dugtrio will require a certain number of clicks. Each Diglett and Dugtrio gives the player one Razz Berry. A bonus round is awarded for a short period if Dugtrio is clicked, and players can then click on Pokémon that are the type that is shown to earn berries. If the player clicks a Pokémon that is not of this type, the bonus period ends. Occasionally, a Pokémon will move across the screen and, if not tapped, attack the player. The player can also collect charge icons to fill the charge meter. Once the meter is full, for a short period, all Diglett, Dugtrio and items will be tapped automatically.

Not being able to tap a Diglett or Dugtrio in time will cause the player to lose a life. Tapping a spiked ice ball will also cause loss of a life. The player can regain lives by tapping on heart icons that occasionally surface. The game ends when all three lives are lost.

Battle Dunk

Battle Dunk

Battle Dunk is a game with the goal of knocking as many enemy Pokémon out of the arena as the player can. Knocking a Pokémon out of the arena gives 3 berries. Various obstacles can appear that try to knock the player and enemy Pokémon out of the arena. Other Pokémon may also appear on the screen to distract the player. The player can collect charge icons, and once the charge meter is filled, lightning will knock the enemy Pokémon out leaving behind a pool of Razz Berries for the player to collect.

The player loses a life by being knocked out of the arena or by being struck by ice obstacles. The player can collect heart icons to regain lives. Once the player loses all three lives, the game ends.

Waterfall Crossing

Waterfall Crossing

In Waterfall Crossing, the player helps Pokémon safely cross the river by bouncing them across on a raft. The player earns one Razz Berry each time a Pokémon is transported across. If the player bounces a Jigglypuff across, the Jigglypuff will cause the player's Pokémon to go to sleep. The player is able to wake the Pokémon by selecting 1, 2, and 3 in the correct order. Doing so successfully will earn the player 10 Razz Berries. The player can also transport across charge icons to fill the charge meter. Once the meter is full, the player is rewarded with a shower of berries which the player can collect. The player may also bounce berries to add to their berry total.

The player loses a life for each Pokémon they are unable to save. Getting struck by falling ice also causes the player to lose a life. The game ends when the player loses all three life. The player can gain extra life by bouncing across a heart icon.
