In March 2007, a preview holographic Piplup card from {{TCG|Diamond & Pearl}} was included in one of the three limited edition collectors' tins. The card was later reprinted in {{TCG|POP Series 6}} with different artwork by [[Atsuko Nishida]].
This card was included in the {{TCG|Diamond & Pearl}} expansion with artwork by [[Ken Sugimori]], first released in the {{TCG|Space-Time Creation}} expansion in Japan. It was also included in the Empoleon Half Deck of the Japanese {{TCG|Entry Pack}}. In Japan, the card was reprinted as a promotional mini card as part of a {{wp|7-Eleven}} Poké Ball Lottery campaign in March 2007. This version, measuring 4.5cm × 6.5cm, was randomly packaged with certain 7-Eleven products in select stores. Also in March 2007, a Cosmos Holofoil variant of this print was one of the cards available in the US {{TCGMerch|Diamond & Pearl|Series|2007 Spring Collector's Tins}} as a special sneak preview before the actual release of the expansion. It was subsequently released outside the US in {{TCGMerch|Diamond & Pearl|Series|Special Edition Blisters}} later that year. A limited Cosmos Holofoil variant of the Diamond & Pearl print was also given to attendees of the 2007 [[The Pokémon Company International|Pokémon USA]] annual distributor meeting in San Diego. This print features a gold foil globe with "San Diego 07" in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

This card was included in the Diamond & Pearl expansion with artwork by Ken Sugimori, first released in the Space-Time Creation expansion in Japan. It was also included in the Empoleon Half Deck of the Japanese Entry Pack. In Japan, the card was reprinted as a promotional mini card as part of a 7-Eleven Poké Ball Lottery campaign in March 2007. This version, measuring 4.5cm × 6.5cm, was randomly packaged with certain 7-Eleven products in select stores. Also in March 2007, a Cosmos Holofoil variant of this print was one of the cards available in the US 2007 Spring Collector's Tins as a special sneak preview before the actual release of the expansion. It was subsequently released outside the US in Special Edition Blisters later that year. A limited Cosmos Holofoil variant of the Diamond & Pearl print was also given to attendees of the 2007 Pokémon USA annual distributor meeting in San Diego. This print features a gold foil globe with "San Diego 07" in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
