Pelipper is a pelican-like Pokémon whose head and bill make up the majority of its body. It has white feathers with a short, blue crest on top of its head. There are three blue digits on each of its wide wings, and it has blue feet with three webbed digits. Each eye is made of two black semicircles with a horizontal white line between them. Its large yellow bill appears to extend along its underside.

Inside Pelipper's bill is a throat pouch that it uses to carry eggs and small Pokémon, and is large enough to fit a small child in. It builds its nest on {{DL|List of Pokémon by habitat|Sea Pokémon|steep cliffs facing the sea}}. Young male Pelipper are in charge of gathering food and bringing it back to others at its nest. ===Origin===
===Origin===
Pelipper resembles a {{wp|pelican}}.
Pelipper seems to be based on a {{wp|pelican}}, which are known for their large beaks and {{wp|gular skin|throat pouches}} used to scoop up prey. It also resembles a small {{wp|fishing vessel}} due to its body shape and its habit of floating on ocean waves and transporting small Pokémon in its beak. Its curved beak resembles the {{wp|hull (watercraft)|boat hull}}, its head resembles the {{wp|cabin (ship)|deckhouse}}, and its eyes resemble doors with windows.

====Name origin====
====Name origin====
Pelipper may be a combination of ''pelican'' and ''skipper'' (a rank of sailor) or ''flipper'' (referring to its webbed feet). It may also be a combination of ''pelican'' and ''propeller''.
Pelipper may be a combination of ''{{wp|pelican}}'' and ''{{wp|sea captain#Skipper|skipper}}'' (a boat captain) or ''{{wp|flipper (anatomy)|flipper}}'' (referring to its paddle-like wings).

Pelipper (Japanese: ペリッパー Pelipper) is a dual-type Water/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Wingull starting at level 25.

Biology

Pelipper is a pelican-like Pokémon whose head and bill make up the majority of its body. It has white feathers with a short, blue crest on top of its head. There are three blue digits on each of its wide wings, and it has blue feet with three webbed digits. Each eye is made of two black semicircles with a horizontal white line between them. Its large yellow bill appears to extend along its underside.

Inside Pelipper's bill is a throat pouch that it uses to carry eggs and small Pokémon, and is large enough to fit a small child in. Skimming across the top of waves, it scoops food from the sea and swallows it in one gulp. It can swallow up to 30 Wishiwashi in one go. It builds its nest on steep cliffs facing the sea. Young male Pelipper are in charge of gathering food and bringing it back to others at its nest. It can also be seen bobbing in the ocean while resting its wings. It loves to eat abandoned Luvdisc that are too despondent to be wary near the sea surface.

Trivia

  • Pelipper shares its category with Ducklett. They are both known as the Water Bird Pokémon.

Origin

Pelipper seems to be based on a pelican, which are known for their large beaks and throat pouches used to scoop up prey. It also resembles a small fishing vessel due to its body shape and its habit of floating on ocean waves and transporting small Pokémon in its beak. Its curved beak resembles the boat hull, its head resembles the deckhouse, and its eyes resemble doors with windows.

Name origin

Pelipper may be a combination of pelican and skipper (a boat captain) or flipper (referring to its paddle-like wings).
