Choices is the second round in the Black & White arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga.

Synopsis

Template:Spoiler The round opens on a fine morning in Nuvema Town with a mailman and his Herdier picking up a package from Professor Juniper’s Pokémon Laboratory. Realizing the package is supposed to go the house around the corner, he goes on his way. A stranger comes up behind him and touches the mailman’s shoulder, causing the mailman to slam the stranger to the ground, where the stranger calls the mailman mean. The mailman then realizes that it’s only a boy and scolds him. The mailman goes on to say that he has to deliver this package to a boy named Black, to which the boy responses that he is Black. Black drags the mailman to his house to prove it, then drags him back to Lab. The mailman gives the package to Black, who celebrates. Black then sits down with his two Pokémon, Brav and Musha, to open the box. Inside the box he finds three Pokémon and three Pokédexes. Black then sneezes due to a cold he caught the night before while out in the rain waiting for the mailman. The three Poké Balls open to reveal a Snivy, a Tepig, and an Oshawott. Both Snivy and Tepig begin fighting, while Black cheers them on. Like the night before, both Tepig and Snivy hit Oshawott, who begins to attack them, in the chaos, Tepig runs away to escape a very mad Oshawott. Later, Professor Juniper, Cheren, and Bianca find the aftermath of the fight between the three starter Pokémon. Professor Juniper tells Cheren and Bianca that was busy that morning so she had a mailman come and pick up the package and take it to Black’s house. She goes on to describe the seen before them, then demands to know where Black, Tepig, and the third Pokédex are. Bianca, gives Snivy to Cheren and takes Oshawott for herself. Professor Juniper decides to have her Minccino clean up the mess, while they look for Black and Tepig. Professor Juniper then spots Tepig’s tracks and they go follow them. The tracks lead them to a tree, where they find Black trying to talk Tepig to come out of the tree. Black then says that he wants Tepig to be his parter. As Tepig turns to go to Black, a Pokémon attacks Tepig. While Black tries to figure out whats attacking Tepig, Professor Juniper decides that if Black can handle that situation without any help, she would forgive him for making a mess of things. Black calls for his Musha so that it can eat his dream of winning the Pokémon League so he can focus on the task at hand. Black then realizes that the Pokémon attacking Tepig is a Sewaddle that felt that Tepig was invading its territory. Tepig was then able to defeat the bug-type with a fire attack. Black then screams to the heavens, “YAAAAAHOOO! I’m going to the Pokémon League Championship and I’m gonna win!!! I’m really, really, really gonna win it!!! Watch out reigning Champion!! You too, Elite Four!! Ready or not, here I come!!!” Black then takes off on his Brav, while Professor Juniper finds out that the only working Pokédex is Black’s.
