Synopsis
You Need to Chill Out, Regice/VS. Regice or The Flying Star (Japanese: VS レジアイス VS Regice or 空翔ける星 The Flying Star) is the 313th round of the Pokémon Adventures manga.

The round begins with Brandon's Regis's Explosion, and both Emerald and Regirock are thrown to the ground. Emerald proclaims that Explosion is a childish move, but Pyramid King Brandon states that the battle is a showdown and he won't be caught chickening out of a win. Brandon has his remaining Regis attack Emerald, who sends out his remaining two Pokémon, Cubone and Hitmonchan.
Plot
spoilers
The round starts with Brandon's legendary titans's Explosion filling the top of the Battle Frontier (Generation III). Regirock and Emerald crash onto the ground, fainted from the powerful attack. Emerald calls Pyramid King childish for using a move like Explosion, but Brandon states that in a showdown, he won't back down from a win. Brandon has Registeel attack, so Emerald sends out his next two Pokémon, Crystal's Bonee and Monlee.

Emerald moves Sceptile to a corner and sends his Hitmonchan to counterattack Brandon's Brandon's Regis with Fire Punch and Sky Uppercut, which knocks it out. Emerald initially celebrates but notices Hitmonchan fall over, due to being poisoned by Registeel's Toxic when Hitmonchan was busy attacking it. Failing to heal Hitmonchan in time, Emerald finds himself tied with Brandon again, with one Pokémon apiece. Brandon's Regis attacks Cubone who barely defends itself using its bone, and Brandon notices a flash of light in the sky, which is revealed to be Jirachi.
Emerald moves Sceptile to a counter and sends Monlee into battle. Monlee circles around Registeel with his fast speed and strikes it with a barrage of Fire Punches. Emerald states that they will turn the tide of the battle by attacking furiously and has Monlee use Sky Uppercut. Monlee strikes Registeel with a powerful uppercut, sending it several feet into the air and knocking it out. Although he won the battle, Monlee suddenly falls to the ground and turns sickly. Emerald realizes that Registeel used Toxic when it was being attacked.

Todd Snap runs out of the Battle Tower and runs into Latias in human form, who appears to makes him float into the air above the Battle Pyramid. Todd is initially scared, but Latias explains they are still outside Battle Tower and are only seeing what Latios is seeing through Latios' telepathic vision. Todd sees Sceptile and begins to worry that the Frontier Brains would think Emerald really did steal the Rental Pokémon, and shouts that he'll never be able to clear his name. Latias tells him to calm down and points to Jirachi in the sky, who mysteriously disappears.
Since none of the items he picked up can heal Monlee, Emerald is unable to heal him before he keels over, defeated. Brandon points out that they both have one Pokémon left, but Emerald is at a disadvantage with the Ground Cubone against his Ice Regice. Regice attacks by stomping with its leg, which Bonee manages to block with its bone. Suddenly, Brandon is distracted by a bright flash in the sky, which is revealed to be Jirachi.

Brandon is surprised, and then is yelled at by Emerald who reminds him to concentrate on the battle. Regice breaks Cubone's bone and knocks it out, to which Brandon proclaims victory. Brandon then turns around to see his Regice falling and knocked out, and can't understand why or how this happened. He then sees Sceptile and questions how it could have defeated Regice when it was supposed to be knocked out. Emerald explains that he used a Revive which he had gathered 99 of while roaming through the Pyramid, and used it while Brandon was preoccupied with the flash of light in the sky.
Meanwhile, the reporter runs out of the Battle Tower to see Emerald's battle and accidentally runs into another member of the press. The press member is revealed to be Eon duo (Adventures) in yet another disguise. The reporter tells her that they need to hurry to see Emerald's battle, but Latias states that they have no need to be at the Battle Pyramid to see the battle. Suddenly, the reporter and Latias appear in the sky above the Battle Pyramid. Latias explains that Eon duo (Adventures) has the ability to project what he sees to Latias, meaning that they can see the battle against Emerald and Brandon without leaving the Battle Tower.

Brandon laughs heartily and, commending Emerald's bravery in his tactics, presents the Brave Symbol to Emerald. Todd runs up and congratulates Emerald, and tries to keep Emerald quiet about where he got Sceptile from. The group is then confronted by the rest of the Frontier Brains who demand to know where Sceptile came from. Emerald tells them he got them from the Battle Factory, and Tucker plans on handing him over to the police. Brandon then says he doesn't believe that Sceptile is a rental because the strategy that the two employed was extremely dangerous and advanced, and required Sceptile to have absolute faith in Emerald - something he wouldn't expect from a rental Pokémon. Anabel then asks Emerald to tell them everything he knows, and he starts with showing them the Pokédex entry of Jirachi and says that it appeared above the Battle Pyramid.
The reporter notices that Emerald is losing the battle, and that he picked Sceptile, meaning that he chose the Open Level category. However, seeing Sceptile reminds the reporter that the Frontier Brains know that the rental Pokémon were stolen, which means that since Emerald stole Sceptile, they'll assume that Emerald was the thief. Although the reporter gets worried that Emerald won't be able to clear his name, Latias points to a more important matter in the sky—Jirachi. Jirachi suddenly disappears from the sky, leaving the reporter and Brandon confused as to what it was.

Emerald gets angry at Brandon and demands that he pay attention to their battle. Emerald mocks Brandon for stating that he'll finish the battle in a minute, while Bonee has managed to block the attack for that long. Brandon gets annoyed and points out that Bonee's bone is shattering. Bonee is knocked out, and Brandon proudly proclaims that he's the winner of the battle, only for Regice to suddenly get knocked out by an attack. The attacker is revealed to be a revived Sceptile, who had beat Regice with a powerful Iron Tail.

Emerald reveals that when Brandon was distracted by the flash of light, he secretly put one of the 99 Revives he gathered into Sceptile's mouth. Brandon proudly commends Emerald's bravery for such a tactic and gives him the Brave Symbol as proof of his victory. As Emerald puts the Symbol into his Trainer Card (game), Brandon asks where the Sceptile came from. Emerald almost reveals that he stole it, but the reporter comes in and changes the subject to keep him quiet.

The reporter tries to drag Emerald away, but they are stopped by Salon Maiden, Dome Ace, Pike Queen, and Arena Tycoon. Anabel demands that Emerald reveal where he got Sceptile from. Although the reporter begs him not to, Emerald casually states that he stole it from the Battle Frontier (Generation III). Tucker attempts to hand Emerald over to the police, but Brandon comes down and states that Sceptile may not be a rental Pokémon.

Brandon explains that in the battle, Emerald and Sceptile used a strategy that required Sceptile to trust in Emerald completely, which is odd behavior for a rental Pokémon. Anabel tells Emerald that in order for him to prove his innocence, he will have to tell them everything he knows. Emerald accepts and takes out his Pokédex to begin telling them about Jirachi.
