VS Regirock (Japanese: VS レジロック VS Regirock) is the 312th round of the Pokémon Adventures manga, and the tenth round of the Emerald arc.

Synopsis

The chapter begins at daybreak with Emerald nearing the end of the third set when he is attacked by a Houndoom to which he counters with his Phanpy's Earthquake. After defeating the Houndoom he finishes set three, and Todd explains that after each set the Pyramid's interior changes, and Emerald must be cautious.

Emerald encounters a wild Misdreavus, and has his Shedinja use Shadow Ball to defeat it. Pyramid King Brandon contacts Todd and tells him the Pyramid was originally constructed by a great king from the past, and it contains many traps just as it did years ago. Brandon also says that anyone who challenges the pyramid will encounter numerous sentries who will test the challenger's bravery, and anyone who manages to scale the pyramid will be greatly rewarded.

Emerald comes to the realization that everytime he defeats a wild monster the Pyramid gets slightly brighter which allows him to find his way easier. Todd is reflecting on Brandon and proclaims that he is deserving to be called a Frontier Brain, and worries that Emerald might not even stand a chance against Brandon's Regis.

Meanwhile Emerald is surprised by a Gengar and orders his Alakazam to teleport them to safety. Emerald explains to Todd that this set is designed to make his Pokémon run out of PP, and that Phanpy has been picking up items the whole time with it's ability. Todd then realizes that Emerald chose all three of his Pokémon for specific reasons (i.e. Phanpy's pick up abilitiy, Alakazam's teleportation, and Shedinja's energy conservation.)

Just as Todd exclaims that Emerald will be able to conquer the Battle Pyramid with no problem, Palace Maven Spenser surprises him and tells him that Emerald may be disqualified from the challenge altogether. At the Battle Tower, the Frontier Brains are crowded around an injured Noland, when Spenser and Snap enter the room. Tucker explains that Noland was knocked out, and all the rental Pokémon were stolen. The Frontier Brains suspect Emerald of stealing the Pokémon to which Todd explains that Emerald was in the Battle Pike the whole day.

Anabel tells the group to stop yelling and that Scott has left her with instructions on how to deal with the situation. She explains that first the battle demonstration for the press will continue, otherwise they would have to explain the circumstances, and chaos would ensue. Second the Frontier Brains must do everything in their power to capture the criminal and that they must catch them before the facilities are open to the public.

Todd wonders how Emerald is doing and Lucy tells him that he is on the last floor of the tenth set. Emerald is confronted by Brandon and the three Regis who is surprised to see how many items Emerald had collected. Brandon and Emerald's battle begins with Brandon ordering his Regirock to use Superpower, and Emerald sends out his Sceptile much to Brandon's surprise. Emerald tells his Sceptile to use Leech Seed, to which Brandon explains that cheap tricks like that will not work on him and he orders his Regirock to use Explosion.
