[[Misty]], [[Lt. Surge]], and [[Blaine]] order their new companions, {{DL|Legendary beasts (Adventures)|Suicune}}, {{DL|Legendary beasts (Adventures)|Raikou}}, and {{DL|Legendary beasts (Adventures)|Entei}} respectively, to attack the [[Masked Man]]. The Masked Man responds by blowing the three attacks away and commanding {{m|Aeroblast}} and {{m|Sacred Fire}} from {{adv|Tower duo|Lugia and Ho-Oh}} to knock the beasts back into the [[Indigo Plateau]] wreckage. {{adv|Crystal}} sees the confrontation from a distance, and also see the Gym Leaders counteract the Masked Man's claim by breathing through pumps attached to their forearms. They then open up their forearm cases and toss a [[Mystic Water]], [[Magnet]], and [[Charcoal]] to their respective beasts, powering up their attacks to push Lugia and Ho-oh back.
 
Without warning, the Masked Man knocks Misty off Suicune. Misty breaks her fall with her forearm case, and orders Suicune to use {{m|Rain Dance}}. This, combined with {{m|Hydro Pump}}, nullifies Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire. Misty uses the opportunity to open up with what Suicune communicated to her, and accuse the Masked Man of kidnapping children and training them up to be mere assistants in his quest to control time. The Masked Man makes no attempt to deny, and turns away, only to notice Misty stubbornly holding onto him. Suicune then crosses its tails together, creating its crystal wall to surround the Masked Man and Misty.

The Last Battle IV (Japanese: 最終決戦IV The Last Battle IV) is the 170th round of the Pokémon Adventures manga.
