Rhyhorn Rising (Japanese: VS サイホーン VS. Sihorn) is the 87th round of the Pokémon Adventures manga and the 47th round in the Yellow arc.

Synopsis

Yellow is certain that Lance could not have survived from his fall into the lava, though a bubble-encased Lance proves otherwise. With his Dragonair and Gyarados firing BubbleBeam, Lance creates a storm of bubbles that refract light to hide him from sight, injuring Yellow's arm and forcing her to have Kitty bind it in place with String Shot. Unable to see Lance, Yellow and her Pokémon are forced to retreat.

Yellow has Kitty cover the volcano crater in String Shot to form a net that is doused by her Omanyte's water, linked to Ratty's sensitive whiskers. Upon Lance triggering the net, Ratty signals to Pika to send electricity down the net, forcing Lance's bubble into view. Yellow orders her Doduo to break the bubble with Drill Peck but the attack proves too weak. Lance mocks Yellow for attempting to break a bubble that withstood lava and sends Yellow flying, but she is saved by the sudden appearance of Giovanni. Yellow begs Giovanni to let her fight, saying that as a trainer of Viridian, only she can deal with Lance. Giovanni reveals himself to also be of Viridian City, and glares across the crater at Lance.
