In Japan, this card was one of five that could be obtained through the Communication Evolution campaign, which began in April 1999. Participants had to send a {{TCG|Omanyte}} card along with {{TCG ID|Vending|Bill's PC|S3}} in the mail to MediaFactory. MediaFactory would then send back the 'evolved' form.
