Quelling a noble Pokémon

Noble Pokémon (Japanese: キング・クイーン Kings and Queens) are a select group of Pokémon in the Hisui region who are descendant of the ten companions of the ancient hero of legend, blessed by Arceus. There is a total of five noble Pokémon who, along with the five Ride Pokémon, are cared for under a Warden of the Diamond and Pearl Clans. All noble Pokémon are new evolutions of previously existing Pokémon or Pokémon who were given regional forms in Generation VIII. These Pokémon are often larger than their standard counterparts, and may even be larger than alpha Pokémon. Inheriting the duties of protecting the Diamond and Pearl Clans, noble Pokémon have the distinct "Lord" title for the male Nobles and "Lady" title for the female Nobles.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the five noble Pokémon have become frenzied due to a special energy from the space-time rift. To calm them, the player character must throw balms made of the nobles' favorite food until its frenzy gauge reaches zero. After a series of attacks, the frenzied noble will let its guard down for a short window of time, when the player can throw a Pokémon at it to initiate a battle. After being defeated in battle, the noble will become stunned for several seconds, and its frenzy gauge will deplete faster from balms, before reinitiating a new series of attacks.

Each noble Pokémon will grant the player a specific plate, corresponding to one of their types, after they have calmed down.

In the post-game, the player can have a rematch against the nobles at their respective arenas by talking to the Warden. The challenges will be identical, except the noble Pokémon will all be at Lv. 70, and the player is timed for personal records. Upon winning, the player will receive Exp. Candies M and, if the player received no damage, Grit Pebbles.

Trivia

  • Statues of all the noble Pokémon, along with the Ride Pokémon, created by the original inhabitants of Hisui can be found at the Temple of Sinnoh. However, these statues were destroyed, with the temple itself.
