A Ninja Boy named Kinji/Lao is seen battling Gentleman Walter in the Battle Dome in the Emerald arc. While it is unknown who won, what is known is that Lao at some point lost a match, eliminating him from the tournament.

A Ninja Boy makes a cameo in the Platinum arc while the main characters visit Veilstone City. He first appears in Magnificent Meditite & Really Riolu I. He was supposed to challenge Maylene but she mixed the Ninja Boy and his friends with the three main characters, due to the main characters possessing an item that made landing attacks easier she had heard the kids talking about. He, together with his friends, is seen entering the Battle Frontier in Deprogramming Porygon-Z.
