Nightmare is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II. It is TM50 in that generation.
Effect
Nightmare will reduce a sleeping Pokémon's health by a 1/4 of its maximum HP each turn. The nightmare will end if the Pokémon is woken up. This move will fail if the target is not asleep and its effects will not continue if a target is put back to sleep. However, if the target it put to sleep in the same turn it was woken up, the effects will in fact continue.
