Major appearances
Gary's Nidoqueen
Gary Oak has a Nidoqueen that he may or may not have obtained as a Nidoran♀ or Nidorina. Gary first used his Nidoqueen to defend his grandfather's lab from Team Rocket agents Jessie, James and Meowth in A Tents Situation. Gary later used Nidoqueen in Can't Beat the Heat in the Johto League. Gary's Nidoqueen defeated Ash's Tauros and was defeated by Ash's Snorlax.
Other
Navel Island Gym Leader Danny owns a Nidoqueen. This Nidoqueen was shown competing against Ash's Lapras into freezing a super-heated geyser. Afterwards, this Nidoqueen helped Danny's Machoke and Scyther carve Danny's sled.
A Nidoqueen appeared under the ownership of Andi in The Bicker the Better. Her boyfriend, Oscar, had a Nidoking.
Minor appearances
Nidoqueen's first appearance was in Mewtwo Strikes Back. A Nidoqueen owned by Fergus was one of the Pokémon that were captured and cloned by Mewtwo. The Nidoqueen clone was seen again in Mewtwo Returns, along with what was apparently a Nidoqueen baby despite the fact that Nidoqueen cannot breed and its unevolved form is Nidoran♀.
A Nidoqueen appeared in DP140 with a Nidoking.
In the manga
Green had a Nidoran♀ Pokémon Adventures that later evolved into a Nidorina and then into Nidoqueen.
Giovanni had a Nidoqueen. Red also caught a Nidoqueen in the Safari Zone.

Origin
It shares traits of rhinoceroses, gorillas, rabbits and porcupines.
Name origin
Nidoqueen's name may be based on the word needle. It may also be based on cnidocyte, a type of venomous cell responsible for the stings delivered by stinging animals, most notably, by jellyfish. Alternatively, it may be based on 二 ni, two, or 二度 nido, two times/two degrees, referring to there being two distinct evolutionary lines using the name with similar names and traits. The second part of its name is simply queen, referring to its feminine gender.
