Special abilities
Behavior
Munchlax behaves quite opposite of its evolution, Snorlax, as it is somewhat hyperactive, though it is very similar with its eating patterns. It does not mind walking and running from place to place as it looks for food.
Habitat
Diet
Main article: Pokémon food
It is generally seen in urban city streets where it scrounges for food, even in trash cans. It is similar to Snorlax in this respect; it is almost always hungry.
In the anime
Munchlax first appeared in Destiny Deoxys, which evolved into a Snorlax to help Ash. May currently owns a Munchlax, who appears in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.
In the manga
Diamond owns a Munchlax
In the TCG
Although Munchlax has not appeared yet in a localized card game expansion, it has appeared several times on Japanese promotional cards, including one appearance each in two promotional Japanese half-decks that have been released alongside the seventh and eighth Pokémon movies.

Trivia
Munchlax's English name was revealed on 10th September 2004.
Origin
Munchlax is based on a baby bear.
Name origin
Munchlax's name is a combination of munch, to chew on food, and relax. Its Japanese name is likely a combination of Snorlax's Japanese name, Kabigon, and baby. It may also be from 権兵衛 gonbee, popular Japanese name for peasants in the old days.
