History
Pokémon the Series
In Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, the mother was reading the history of Rota to her daughter. The little girl insisted that her mother read the story again, which her mother accepted.
In The Rise of Darkrai, they were seen traveling through Alamos Town when they were buying cotton candy from a man at a stand. They were seen again when Darkrai attacked several Pokémon in the town square.
In Giratina and the Sky Warrior, they were seen walking in a town while Zero attacked Ash and his friends with his Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone.
They were seen walking past Ash and his friends during the ending credits for Arceus and the Jewel of Life.
In Zoroark: Master of Illusions, they were seen walking along the sidewalk behind Peg.
In White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram, they were passed by Ash, Iris, and Cilan during the battle tournament in Eindoak Town. They later witnessed the Sword of the Vale being lifted into the air.
Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice, they appeared when Ash and his friends got off the train in Windy Station and they were seen again in the end credits where Ash, Iris, and Cilan are seen eating ice cream on a bridge.
In the ending credits of Genesect and the Legend Awakened, they were among the guests taking a tour of Pokémon Hills with Eric. Their hairstyles and outfit structure are very similar to that in Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice, but the colors of the outfits are completely changed.
They made another appearance during the Mega Latias and Mega Latios journal in the Japanese version of XY050, where they were seen riding a plane. This segment was later dubbed as part of the Mega Evolution Pokédex Shorts. This marked their first appearance in the main series.
In Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, they could be seen when they were evacuated from the space-time collapse via one of Hoopa's rings. Their hairstyles match the traditional designs, but their outfits are completely different, both structurally and color-wise.
The pair appeared in Securing the Future!, among a crowd watching Hala on television. Their hair colors are noticeably different: black instead of brown hair for the mother, and brown instead of orange hair for the daughter. The daughter's shirt, while similar in structure in other appearances, is colored pink-over-white rather than yellow-over-pink.
I Choose You! trilogy
In I Choose You!, which is set in a different continuity from Pokémon the Series, they were seen walking through an unknown town. Later at the end of the film, they were seen sitting in garden together with a Poochyena.
In The Power of Us, they were seen by the veranda with a Bayleef watching lanterns in the sky.
In Secrets of the Jungle, they were seen walking around Milyfa Town.
Other appearances
In Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, they were seen during the ending credits.
In A Ripple in Time, they were seen passing Cynthia and her Garchomp.

Lookalikes
Characters resembling the mother and daughter have also appeared, but with significant differences in their details, such as in their hairstyles, outfits, or general color scheme.
In Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, a lookalike pair was seen walking through an unknown town. This pair uses the general color scheme of a teal outfit and brown hair for the mother, and a yellow outfit and orange hair for the daughter. However, their hairstyles are completely different from the usual pair (hair down instead of ponytail for the mother, and a single ponytail instead of twintails for the daughter), and their outfits are simplified to use only a single color throughout.
