The Moon Ball (Japanese: ムーンボール Moon Ball) is a type of Poké Ball introduced in Generation II. It can be used to capture a wild Pokémon more effectively if it can evolve using a Moon Stone.

Effect

When used from the Bag in a wild encounter, it will attempt to capture the wild Pokémon with a catch rate modifier of 4× if a member of its evolutionary family evolves using a Moon Stone or 1× if otherwise.

In Trouble's Brewing, the Kimono Sisters (excluding Sakura) were shown keeping their Eeveelutions inside Apricorn Poké Balls, with Satsuki's Jolteon's ball being a Moon Ball, Sumomo's Vaporeon's ball being a Lure Ball, and Satsuki's Umbreon's ball being a Fast Ball.
