{{main|List of Medals in Pokémon GO}}
In [[Pokémon GO]], there are a number of medals that the player can earn. Each potential medal can be earned at several different ranks. With the exception of medals named after [[region]]s and {{p|Unown}}, the medals are all named after {{DL|Pokémon Trainer|Trainer class}}es. The progress a player appears as a circular progress bar relating to the level they've progressed to with the exact progress within the circle. Players that have earned a gold badge have their grand total appearing on a banner below the badge.

As a result of the Gym update in June 2016, the Ace Trainer badge has been retired from play, as the feature is no longer available.

From October 10, 2016 onward, the type-specific medals provide capture bonuses when attempting to catch Pokémon of that type. Bronze medals provide +1, Silver medals provide +2, Gold medals provide +3. If a Pokémon has two types, the bonus is the average of the medals for each of its types.

Upon the release of the Hoenn badge, the Johto badge was updated to reflect the design of the Johto Pokédex

There are also special medals, that can be obtained during real-life events.
