Squirtle (Japanese: ゼニガメ Zenigame) was the seventh Pokémon obtained by May. After leaving her Beautifly and Skitty in Hoenn, she met up with Ash in Pallet Town, where one of Professor Oak's Squirtles took a liking to her. When it didn't want to go in Professor Oak's Pokéball, he allowed it to travel with May, so it went in her Pokéball instead.
May's Squirtle is distinctive from Ash's Squirtle, as is much younger, and so much smaller.
