Mallow's mother is a character of the day who appeared in Memories in the Mist!. She is the mother of Mallow and Ulu, and the wife of Abe. Prior to the Sun & Moon series, she passed away due to an unspecified illness while Mallow was still little.
She first appeared in a flashback of her and Mallow going for a walk in a forest located behind the Pokémon School. During their walk, they encountered a Bounsweet that she caught and gave to Mallow for her to keep so that she wouldn't be lonely. She was also shown repeatedly apologizing to Mallow for her condition; this eventually frustrated Mallow and caused her to have an angry outburst towards her mother before leaving, which turned out to be their final conversation before her death.
