A Madame (Japanese: マダム Madame), known as a Socialite until Generation VI, is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation IV. They are depicted as rich, older women wearing exquisite clothing and accessories. Madames will generally use Pokémon based on pets or other "refined" Pokémon, like Roselia.
In the Battle Subway in Generation V, Socialites specialize in Legendary Pokémon during later battles.
In Generation VI, this Trainer class only appears in the Battle Maison, but Madames can also be found in Pokémon X and Y at the Battle Chateau as a Baroness, Viscountess, Countess, Marchioness, or Duchess. Their male counterparts appear to be the Gentleman and Monsieur classes.
In Generations VI and VII, they keep their Pokémon in Luxury Balls. In the Battle Tree, Madames who appear after the Battle Legend will primarily use Legendary Pokémon.

In the anime
In That's Why the Litten is a Scamp!, a Madame greeted her Alolan Persian, nicknamed Pershie, when it returned to her after taking Litten's food. In Dummy, You Shrunk the Kids!, the Madame was chatting with a friend, unaware that Pershie had been chasing after a shrunken Ash and Lillie. She was later shocked when Pershie returned after being defeated by Mallow's Tsareena. In We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, she tried on jewelry and didn't realize when Pershie went to chase after an Eevee. She later found Pershie when Eevee and Popplio had given it the slip.
In a flashback in JN016, a Madame arrived at the building that would become the Cerise Laboratory, only to be scared away by a Gengar that had been haunting the location.
Pokémon
Pershie (Japanese: ペルちゃん Per-chan) is Madame's only known Pokémon. It first appeared in That's Why the Litten is a Scamp! where it stole food from Litten. It was later seen confronting Litten but was stopped by Ash and Pikachu. It reappeared later for revenge only to be seen off. Pershie reappeared in Dummy, You Shrunk the Kids!, where it chased Ash, Lillie, and Sophocles after they had been shrunk, only to be defeated by Mallow's Tsareena. Pershie reappeared in We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, where it chased after an Eevee while its Trainer tried on jewelry. Lana's Popplio helped to save Eevee and gave it the slip.
Pershie's known moves are Fury Swipes and Power Gem. | ||
