When used, a Pokémon Den at the Watchtower Ruins becomes active with a Gigantamax Flapple in Pokémon Shield or Gigantamax Appletun in Pokémon Sword. Flapple has guaranteed maximum IVs in HP, Attack and Speed, and Appletun has guaranteed maximum in HP, Defense and Special Attack.

Gigantamax Pikachu Max Raid Battle items

These items were distributed from March 2 to 14, 2021 to celebrate players defeating 874,808 Gigantamax Pikachu during the Pokémon Day Max Raid Battle event from February 26 to 28, 2021. Although the target was one million victories rewarding 100 Armorite Ore and Dynite Ore, the rewards were reduced because of the target not being reached.

Cramorant Max Raid Battle items

These items were distributed from February 10 to 28, 2021 to celebrate players defeating over one million Cramorant during the Max Raid Battle event from February 3 to 8, 2021. A Flame Orb, a Toxic Orb, and a Light Ball were distributed for reaching 500,000 victories, while a Gold Bottle Cap, three Bottle Caps, and three Pearl Strings were added for reaching one million victories.

Shiny Zeraora Armorite Ore

These eight Armorite Ore were distributed alongside a Shiny Zeraora from June 30, 2020 to celebrate passing over 1 million victories in the Zeraora Max Raid Battle event. To receive them, the player must have moved a Pokémon to or from Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Sword and Shield between June 17 and July 6, 2020.

For the first time, the personalised distribution code was released via Pokémon HOME to be input in Pokémon Sword or Shield.

The Isle of Armor promotion packs

These item packs were distributed weekly before the release of the first part of the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass; The Isle of Armor. Each item distribution was also complemented with a separate Galarian Pokémon distribution. As part of a campaign by the @poke_times twitter run by The Pokémon Company, the handle was taken over by the Ball Guy. During this time, the twitter posted this retweet campagin, promising rare Poké Balls if players retweeted it enough times. Eventually, all goals were met, and a set of nine total Poké Balls, including the Apricorn Balls, Dream Ball, and Beast Ball, were distributed via universal, region-free serial code. All codes expired on January 15, 2020.

Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack Dynamax Crystals

These Dynamax Crystals, ★And15 and ★And458, were distributed via serial code to those who purchased the Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack, both standard and steelbook, which contained both games. The ★And15, for use in Pokémon Sword, grants one-day access to a Max Raid Battle with a Larvitar, while the ★And458, for Shield players, activated the chance to battle a Jangmo-o. Both Pokémon are base forms of Pseudo-legendary Pokémon that cannot otherwise be found in the wild in their respective versions. The codes do not have a known expiration date.
