This is a reverse-chronological list of other event distributions that were given away to all region Pokémon games in Generation VIII.

List of event distributions

The Isle of Armor Promotion Packs

These item packs were distibuted weekly are to be distributed in the weeks before the release of the first part of the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass; The Isle of Armor. Each item distribution is also complemented with a separate Galarian Pokémon distribution. Each distribution lasts exactly a week, with the event changing Thursday at 5:00 PM PDT.

Players who purchase the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass starting from January 9, 2020 will be emailed two separate codes to redeem a Pikachu Uniform and an Eevee Uniform. The codes do not have a known expiration date.

Players could use the code G1GANTAMAX from its release, December 24, 2019, to January 30, 2020 at 23:59 UTC.

A second code for an additional 20 BP was released on January 3, 2020 via Nintendo Switch's Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Channel in its internal News system. Players could use the code KAMPFTEAM from its release, January 3, 2020, to February 27, 2020 at 23:59 UTC.

@poke_times Rare Balls

As part of a campaign by the @poke_times twitter run by The Pokémon Company, the handle was taken over by the Ball Guy. During this time, the twitter posted this retweet campagin, promising rare Poké Balls if players retweeted it enough times. Eventually, all goals were met, and a set of nine total Poké Balls, including the Apricorn Balls, Dream Ball, and Beast Ball, were distributed via universal, region-free serial code. All codes expire January 15th, 2020.

Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack Dynamax Crystals

These Dynamax Crystals, ★And15 and ★And458, were distributed via serial code to those who purchased the Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack, both standard and steelbook, which contained both games. The ★And15, for use in Pokémon Sword, grants one-day access to a Max Raid Battle with a Larvitar, while the ★And458, for Shield players, activated the chance to battle a Jangmo-o. Both Pokémon are base forms of Pseudo-legendary Pokémon that cannot otherwise be found in the wild in their respective versions. The codes do not have a known expiration date.

  • In Spain, it was distributed to players who bought Sword or Shield from GAME.
  • In Italy, it was distributed to players who bought Sword or Shield from Gamestop.
  • In Australia, it was distributed to players who pre-ordered Sword or Shield from EB Games.
  • In the United States, it was distributed in Wal-Marts through Pokémon Pass and QR codes from November 16 to 25, 2019. Up to three codes can be generated per Pokémon Trainer Club account, and the code is usable until February 24, 2020.
