Each location in the Generation IV games has its own identification number used internally by the game. They are enumerated here, in order.
Trivia
- Programmed into the games are locations for potential future event Pokémon given away all the way up until 2016, including one for the 20th movie.
- Third versions typically have extra areas that their paired counterparts do not. A Pokémon from one of these new areas will receive a default location of "Faraway place" in Generation IV games if its location data points to a number it cannot understand.
- Although there is location data for Johto in the Generation IV games, it is not actually used (excluding hacking), despite the existence of Generation IV games taking place in Johto. Instead, the faraway place placeholder is used when a Pokémon caught in Johto is traded to a game taking place in Sinnoh.
