This is a list of Pokémon obtainable from events found in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. These specific instances of Pokémon can only be obtained once per game; however, some may also be obtained in other ways as well.
List of Pokémon
Starter Pokémon
On Route 101, Professor Birch gets attacked by a wild Poochyena (Zigzagoon in Pokémon Emerald), and the player has to use either Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip to save him.
Each Pokémon starts with the same two moves in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, which was later expanded into 3 moves per Pokémon in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Wynaut
The old woman by the sand baths in Lavaridge Town will give the player a Wynaut Egg.
Castform
The staff of the Weather Institute will give the player a Castform for saving the facility from Team MagmaR/Team AquaS.
Kecleon
There are eight set encounters with Kecleon accessible via the Devon Scope throughout Route 119 and Route 120.
Fossil Pokémon
The player may choose between the Root and Claw Fossils on Route 111, while the other fossil will sink into the sand and become permanently lost.
This choice of a single fossil is also the case in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. However, the player can acquire both fossils in Emerald.
Beldum
After the player has entered the Hall of Fame, Steven will leave a Beldum as a gift for them in his cottage in Mossdeep City.
Super-ancient Pokémon
Groudon
Groudon is exclusive to Ruby. It is found during the climax of the game, in the Cave of Origin.
It is also found in Omega Ruby at level 45, and in Emerald at level 70.
Kyogre
Kyogre is exclusive to Sapphire. It is found during the climax of the game, in the Cave of Origin.
It is also found in Alpha Sapphire at level 45, and in Emerald at level 70.
Rayquaza
Rayquaza is found on the roof of the Sky Pillar. It is accessible after the player enters the Hall of Fame (unlike in Emerald, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, where this place is accessible after other story events).
Rayquaza is found at the same level and moveset in Ruby, Saphire, and Emerald; it has the same level with a different moveset in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Legendary titans
The caves where the legendary titans can be caught can be accessed only after visiting the rear of the Sealed Chamber with a Relicanth in the lead spot of the party and a Wailord in the last spot (as opposed to Emerald, where Wailord is the lead and Relicanth is at the last spot).
Regirock
In Ruby and Sapphire (as well as in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), to solve the puzzle leading to Regirock in the Desert Ruins, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then go two steps right, then two steps down, and then use Strength.
Conversely, in Emerald, the player must go two steps left, then two steps down, and then use Rock Smash.
Regice
In Ruby and Sapphire (as well as in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), to solve the puzzle leading to Regice in the Island Cave, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then wait two minutes without moving.
Conversely, in Emerald, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then must make a counterclockwise lap of the chamber, sticking close to the walls.
Registeel
In Ruby and Sapphire (as well as in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), to solve the puzzle leading to Registeel in the Ancient Tomb, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then use Fly in the center of the room.
Conversely, in Emerald, the player must use Flash in the center of the room.
Eon duo
A level 40 LatiasS/LatiosR will start to roam Hoenn when the player learns of it on a news broadcast after entering the Hall of Fame. Conversely, a level 50 LatiasR/LatiosS can be found on Southern Island, which is available if the player has the Eon Ticket.
In Emerald, the player is able to choose which of them will be on Southern Island (also requiring the Eon Ticket) and which of them will roam Hoenn, each with the same level and moveset as in Ruby and Sapphire.
