It was released as part of a promotion at some retailers in the United Kingdom, where customers would obtain the promotional TCG card Unown J and a Pokémon Pikachu's Winter Vacation VHS with the purchase of the Spell of the Unown: Entei VHS or DVD, which was released on October 8, 2001.
