In the anime
Asami is a Furisode Girl loyal to Laverre City Gym Leader Valerie. When Scottie came to Laverre City to ask for a gym battle, Asami told him that the gym leader isn't here and cannot allow gym battles when Valerie is absent.
She reappeared in XY074, following Ash and Valerie's Gym battle.
