Trivia

Origin

Guiding Flame's Japanese name; むかえび mukaebi, is a flame lit to welcome spirits of the deceased. It is lit as part of the Obon Festival. The Japanese name for Fire Blast, daimonji, is also a tradition observed as part of the festival. Fire Blast is a move in the Pokémon games that Ninetales can learn via TM38, or via prior evolution from Generation IV onward. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Gold, though it is heavily reworded in English.
