Anakubo in 2003.

Kousaku Anakubo (穴久保幸作 Anakubo Kousaku), born April 18th, 1957, is the creator of the manga series Pokémon Pocket Monsters and its sequels, Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire and Pocket Monsters DP.

Pokémon Pocket Monsters

Anakubo's most famous work is the Pokémon gag manga, Pokémon Pocket Monsters. It was one of the first ever Pokémon manga. It is one of the longest-running Pokémon manga series to date and is very well-known in Japan. It has been serialized in CoroCoro ever since its beginnings. The manga is about the adventures of a young boy named Isamu Akai and his rude Clefairy. After fourteen volumes, the original series has ended, but the adventures of the main characters continue in Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire, which takes place in Hoenn, and Pocket Monsters DP, which takes place in Sinnoh.

Controversy

Though Pocket Monsters was a success, it was briefly taken off the shelves due to nudity in the second chapter of volume one. There was also some nudity in volume two.
