Trivia

  • Klink and its evolutionary relatives are currently the only pure Steel-type Pokémon related by evolution.
  • Klink and its evolutionary relatives are the only non-Electric-type Pokémon able to learn ThunderShock.
  • Klink's English name is similar to Shinx's Japanese name, Kolink.

Origin

Klink is based on a pair of interlocking gears, more specifically either spur, helical, or herringbone gears. The Klink line's Shiny coloration may have been based on copper gears, since their noses have turned green as copper does when it is rusted.

Name origin

Klink is derived from "clink". It also includes the word "link", possibly referencing how the two gears are connected. Giaru is likely derived from ギア gia (gear).
