Trivia
- This move is a reference to the psychokinetic spoon bending tricks popularized by stage psychic Uri Geller.
- Due to the legal issues between Nintendo and Geller, this may explain why Kinesis is one of four moves introduced in Generation I that has not been featured in the main series anime. (The others are Barrage, Leech Life, and Struggle; however, Barrage was featured in Pokémon Origins.)
- In Pokémon Red and Blue, no Pokémon could learn Kinesis; it only appeared as a random Metronome move. From Pokémon Yellow onward, Kadabra has it as a starting move, such that wild Kadabra know Kinesis in Pokémon Yellow and the Generation II games. Kadabra and Alakazam can also be taught Kinesis using the Move Reminders in Pokémon Stadium 2.
