Kanoa (Japanese: カノア Kanoa) is a character of the day who appeared in Balloons, Brionne, and Belligerence!.

He is a treasure hunter and a surfer and the boyfriend of Ida. He and Ida belong to the Seafolk, a group of people who travel around the seas of the world. While stopping in Hau'oli City, Kanoa had not been able to find any treasure, despite his best efforts. In order to make an income, Ida decided to perform on the streets with her Brionne. While doing so, she and Kanoa met up with Ash, Lana, and Mallow.

Days later, Kanoa discovered that a Mystic Water could be found in a sunken ship off the coast of Melemele Island. He went to retrieve it along with Ida, Ash, Lana and Mallow but discovered that it was guarded by a wild Dhelmise. After Lana successfully scared the Dhelmise off with her Popplio using their newly perfected Z-Move Hydro Vortex, Kanoa was able to collect the Mystic Water. He gave it to Ida as a present, and afterwards they set their farewells to Ash, Lana and Mallow as they set off to their next destination.

  • Kanoa's name and the fact that he uses a surfboard maybe a reference to the professional surfer, Kanoa Igarashi.
