Trivia

Origin

Its Pokedex entry states that it latches onto to larger Pokémon to drain the static electricity off them, so it may be based on a tick, though its size seems to imply it is based on a mite. Like its evolution, it is also based on a tarantula, most likely the Brachypelma smithi, or a jumping spider.

Name origin

May come from バグ (the English word bug), and チュウ chū, an alternate reading of 虫 mushi, meaning bug.
