Jimmy's Typhlosion (Japanese: ケンタのバクフーン Kenta's Bakphoon) was Jimmy's starter Pokémon, given to him as a Cyndaquil by Professor Elm. He obtained it on the same day that Vincent got his Chikorita and Marina got her Totodile.

History

Like Ash and his Pikachu, Jimmy and Typhlosion are very close to each other. In The Legend of Thunder!, it was seen out of its Poké Ball most of the time. It is Jimmy's strongest Pokémon.

Like Jimmy, Typhlosion is determined and never gives up. It has an offensive battle style. It seems to be very strong defensively, being able to take a direct Water Gun from Wani-Wani and still be strong enough to battle.

Trivia

  • Typhlosion is the only one of the trio of starters belonging to Vincent, Jimmy, and Marina not to be seen in the main anime. This is because Jimmy himself has never appeared in it, where Vincent battled against Ash at the Silver Conference, and Marina has made several cameos during the Diamond & Pearl series.
