Jewel of Life

Jewel of Life (Japanese: 命の宝玉 Jewel of Life) is an artifact appearing in Arceus and the Jewel of Life.

In ancient times, Arceus was protected by Damos after suffering critical injuries by protecting the world from a meteor's impact. In gratitude, Arceus gave Damos the Jewel of Life to make the desolate land of Michina Town rich and fertile. Arceus stated that the Jewel of Life never breaks due to the fact that it is made within its body plates.

It is created from five of the sixteen life-forces within Arceus's body: Water, Grass, Ground, Electricity and Dragon.

Trivia

  • The Jewel of Life being formed from the life-forces within Arceus's body is a reference to the sixteen Plates that change Arceus's type in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum through use of its Multitype ability. According to the movie, it is composed of the Splash, Meadow, Earth, Zap, and Draco Plates. Interestingly, Arceus was able to transform into the Dragon and Grass Types during its battle with Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, despite the fact that the Draco and Meadow Plates, respectively, were no longer in its possession.
  • The Jewel of Life looks similar to a green Soul Dew. Interestingly, they both are made from a living being's life force.
  • According to Arceus the Jewel of Life cannot be destroyed.
