Jessie's Pumpkaboo (Japanese: ムサシのバケッチャ Musashi's Bakeccha) is the first Pokémon that Jessie captured in the Kalos region.

History

Pumpkaboo's flashlight ability

Pumpkaboo debuted in XY011 where it came from underground where Jessie was walking. As Pumpkaboo was using its body as a flashlight, James scanned it with his remote and Jessie immediately threw her Poké Ball at it, successfully catching Pumpkaboo. Later in the episode, Jessie revealed it to Ash and his friends when she had a battle with them. Pumpkaboo restricted their movements with Leech Seed. When Ash gave Pangoro a leaf, Pangoro was able to defeat Pumpkaboo and send Team Rocket blasting off.

Pumpkaboo is shown to use it's flashlight ability when sent out.

• Pumpkaboo is Jessie's first Grass-type Pokémon.
• Pumpkaboo was shown to be roughly twice as large as James's Inkay. Assuming there were no size discrepancies, this would make Jessie's Pumpkaboo Super Size: Inkay are 1' 04", and Super Size Pumpkaboo are 2' 07".
