(Japanese: ジエイ Jiei) is a character of the day who appeared in SS009. He is a Pokémon Trainer from Ecruteak City.
Jiei and his grandson Kurio have long hoped to see the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh. Visiting the Bell Tower with Ash and Go, they climbed to the top and called out to Ho-Oh, but it didn't appear. As Ash, Go, and Kurio were about to leave, Jiei spotted Ho-Oh and called out to them. Unfortunately, by the time they returned, Ho-Oh had already disappeared.
